The Particulate Matter (PM) sensor is one of the key technological changes in optical particulate sensing. It is based on a postulate of laser scattering and has been provided with a high contamination-resistant design, which enables the sensor to provide correct measurements at the point of commissioning and remain stable for the duration of operational life of more than a decade. High-quality and durable parts with smart processing codes guarantee a high level of measurement precision of the various types of particulate matter. The sensor is also capable of a more detailed classification of particle size, allowing detailed detection and analysis of all types of environmental dust and airborne particles. The dust monitor is enclosed in a six-plate radiation shield that has a natural means of ventilation. It has a louvered design that allows free flow of air so that the sensor is at the ambient temperature. The white face reflects the solar radiation, and the multi-plate passive shelter is very effective in shielding the sensor against direct sunlight, reflected heat, and other thermal effects, which would guarantee stable and reliable operation in outdoor conditions.
